This production pays tribute to the picture-book German landscape and to the enchanting fairytale narratives of the Brothers Grimm, while mindful of the story’s darker aspects. Lucy worked closely with the director/ set and costume designer to deliver a dark and evocative Grimm fairy tale world.
Depressed and dark, making the magical world of the fairy tales less chocolate box and more sinister.
The real magic comes in the dream sequences….. Lucy Carter’s limpid, evanescent lighting contribute to the magical feel of the forest environment.
