For this production Lucy worked closely with the set designer to provide an immersive experience for the audience, so that the whole auditorium and the audience were in the senate and that the battles scenes were threatening and happening all around them in a sensual experience. At times claustrophobic and others inclusive and collective.
Lucy Carter’s lighting, which gesture towards large-scale death and destruction through spotlights that rove around the auditorium and smoke that rises off the martial figures who point their guns outwards, towards us.
