This was one of the most talked about productions in 2013. A live production on the Beach in Aldeburgh, the very place that inspired The Opera, by Benjamin Britten. With the North Sea and sky as a backdrop, the lighting design complemented the natural decent into sunset and took over, as night fell, in evocative and claustrophobic scenes. The visceral beauty of the productions designs, created by Leslie Traver’s set and costumes and Lucy Carter’ Lighting design, making it a memorable and unrepeatable experience.
The sound and Lighting designers - deserve not mere plaudits but awards, medals and knighthoods.
